Kanpur: C3iHub at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur had the honour of hosting Air Marshal Praveen Keshav Vohra, UYSM, AVSM, VM, Deputy Chief of Integrated Defence Staff and former Commandant of the Air Force Academy, for a high-level visit focused on India’s growing cybersecurity and defence technology capabilities.
During his visit, Air Marshal Vohra interacted with C3iHub’s researchers, scientists, and engineers, gaining first-hand insights into the hub’s cutting-edge research and indigenous technology development. The discussions highlighted ongoing efforts to strengthen India’s cybersecurity ecosystem and enhance the resilience of the nation’s critical infrastructure against evolving cyber threats.
The visit showcased C3iHub’s role as a leading Technology Innovation Hub established under the National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems (NM-ICPS). The hub continues to drive innovation through advanced research, industry collaboration, startup incubation, and the development of homegrown cybersecurity solutions aligned with the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
Air Marshal Vohra’s interaction with the research teams underscored the growing importance of academia-defence collaboration in addressing emerging security challenges. His visit also provided an opportunity to review ongoing initiatives aimed at developing next-generation cyber defence technologies that can support India’s strategic and national security objectives.
The visit reaffirmed the shared commitment of the defence establishment and academic institutions to fostering innovation, building indigenous capabilities, and strengthening the country’s cyber resilience through research-driven technological advancement.
